Whole Foods Natural Hygiene & Home Goods Shopping Haul

This is the latest shopping I’ve done at Wholefoods for mainly personal hygiene care. I only picked up four items, but I’m really excited about two of them!

You’ve probably heard me say that many times about products I got during other clean beauty shopping trips.

But, it’s true.

Shopping for healthy products isn’t only a necessity for me. It’s also a hobby and a passion! Even the smallest beauty care items get me excited!

Now, enough of that. I’ll get straight to the point and share what I picked up. See the list below.

Items Purchased

  1. Alaffia Authentic African Black Soap
  2. Davids Premium Natural Toothpaste
  3. Aura Cacia Relaxing Lavender Aromatherapy Mist
  4. 365 Whole Foods Market Paper Towel

The first two products on the list are the two I’m mainly excited about. Alaffia Authentic African Black Soap and Davids Premium Natural Toothpaste. I’ll share why I chose these particular products and why I’m especially passionate about them.

WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT RAW AFRICAN BLACK SOAP?

One reason I wanted to purchase this soap is that it has so many wonderful benefits. It’s anti-bacterial, anti-aging, fights acne, and much more. Real African Black Soap only includes natural ingredients from plants in Africa.

It has no harsh chemicals so it’s very gentle on the skin.

This soap is made with African mint extract, shea butter and palm kernel oil, lauryl glucoside, and a blend of extracts, essential oils, and other natural ingredients.

I love the simplicity of the ingredients although I wish Alaffia would specify which extracts, essential oil, and other natural ingredients are in this African black soap.

The other main reason I picked up this soap was to exfoliate my skin. But, truthfully, I still haven’t gotten around to it.

HOW DOES ALAFFIA ROSEWATER PEONY BLACK SOAP SMELL?

I wanted to buy Alaffia’s Eucalyptus Tea Tree Black Soap but purchased Rosewater Peony by mistake. But, I must say I’m happy I did get the Rosewater Peony scent because I love it.

It smells exactly like roses. To me, there’s something about the aroma of roses in body care that’s so satisfying.

DAVID’S PREMIUM NATURAL TOOTHPASTE

The next personal hygiene item is Davids Premium Natural Toothpaste. I’ve heard so many great things about it.

Davids Premium Toothpaste is EWG Verified. In my opinion, that says a lot already. Finding EWG Verified products gives me room to breathe. I don’t have to do as much detective work.

I love that it is completely natural with quality ingredients and even the tube it’s in is an eco-friendly material. There’s no artificial anything in it. All the ingredients are naturally derived.

I still haven’t tried it out yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to letting you know my thoughts about it.

UPDATE: I’ve since used Davids Premium Toothpaste and I’ll be sharing my thoughts in a post soon to come.

Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil And Neem Wintergreen Toothpaste is what I’ve been using until now and just ran out of. I enjoyed using this toothpaste as well. I love that it’s natural and fluoride-free, but doesn’t fail to leave my mouth with a minty fresh feeling.

AURA CACIA RELAXING LAVENDER AROMATHERAPY MIST

I got the Aura Cacia Relaxing Lavender Aromatherapy Mist to use as an air freshener. I would have to say that I don’t love it as an air freshener. I’m not thrilled about the scent.

I was going to buy lavender essential oil, mix it with water, and use it as an air freshener, but I decided to go with this aromatherapy mist instead.

It didn’t cost too much in my opinion and would eliminate the extra step of having to mix my own DIY air freshener. Although putting it together would be super simple.

The smell reminds me of starch when ironing clothes and fabric refresher. But, I was looking forward to the genuine lavender essential oil aroma.

It doesn’t smell bad. It’s just not what I was expecting.

With that said, the smell is decent and it does a fair job as an air freshener. I mainly use it to freshen up the bathroom.

Though, I think this lavender aromatherapy mist would work well as a fabric freshener. Giving your clean clothes a few spritzes after washing or before ironing might reinvigorate them as well.

365 whole foods 100 percent recycled paper towels

365 WHOLE FOODS MARKET PAPER TOWELS

I bought 365 Whole Foods Market Paper Towels. Actually, I purchased these paper towels to make DIY baby wipes. I probably haven’t made DIY baby wipes since my first child.

I forgot one very important thing you must consider when making these wipes. The wipes need to be thick and strong enough to not fall apart or shrink. And these particular paper towels did just that.

I would not recommend these for DIY baby wipes (just in case anyone is considering). They are also thin and the sheets separate when wet.

In case you are new to DIY baby wipes or thinking of making them remember to go for thick, soft, and strong paper towels that will hold up when wet.

The 365 Whole Foods Paper Towels work fine for the intended purpose — as paper towels. I use them as you would normally use paper towels to clean up spills and wipe down dirty surfaces.

And on the positive side, the paper towels are affordable, 100% recycled, and made without chlorine bleach, fragrances, and dyes. They are also sturdy and therefore good for cleaning up big messes.

Hopefully, my Whole Foods shopping has helped to choose a few of the right natural body and home care goods for your routine.

Have you tried using any of these products? Are any of these your favorites? Share!
