Anti Aging Results | Derma E Anti Wrinkle Cleanser Review
It was over a year ago when I tried my first Derma E product. It was the Derma E Even Tone Brightening Cleanser.
The company I shopped from online stopped selling it and that’s when I switched to the Derma E Anti Wrinkle Cleanser. By the way, if you’re looking to even your complexion or stop acne then read my Even Tone Brightening Cleanser Review.
Anyway, you’re likely wondering if this is an age-defying facial wash.
I’ll share the details along with my personal experience starting with what might be the most important question anyone who is considering using this product might have…
DOES THE ANTI-WRINKLE CLEANSER HELP REMOVE WRINKLES?
The product description on the Derma E website gives a bit more details about what the facial wash is supposed to do. I’ve included it below.
Vitamin A: The “skin vitamin” helps reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles for a fresher, newer appearance. The texture of your skin will look smoother and more refined, and your complexion will seem rejuvenated with a newfound radiance.
I’ve been using the Derma E Anti Wrinkle Cleanser for over 6 months. I use it every morning followed by a small amount of either jojoba oil, shea butter, or another natural skin cream.
Over the years I’ve developed these 2 creases or wrinkles between my eyebrows and I have fine lines around the mouth — the area that folds when I smile.
I haven’t seen any real change in the appearance of these wrinkles and fine lines since I’ve been using this facial wash.
In my opinion, applying the cleanser on my face every morning for over 6 months is a long time and I personally would expect to see results by now. But I’m not sure how long Derma E suggests it will take to see wrinkles and fine lines reduced after using the Anti Wrinkle Cleanser.

DOES ANTI-WRINKLE CLEANSER SMOOTH AND EVEN COMPLEXION?
This facial wash is supposed to give your skin a smooth texture. I’m not sure if “smooth texture” means clearing away acne, acne scars, or other marks.
But I have noticed that my skin has had fewer breakouts since I’ve been using it. Although my skin isn’t completely acne free, I do have less acne compared to other past facial routines or when I didn’t have any particular facial wash at all.
DOES THE ANTI-WRINKLE CLEANSER CLEAR SKIN LIKE THE EVEN TONE BRIGHTENING CLEANSER?
Although my face doesn’t have much acne, in my personal experience, the Derma E Even Tone Brightening Cleanser was more successful at clearing away those blemishes.
The Anti Wrinkle Cleanser keeps most acne away, but my skin was acne FREE while using the Even Tone Brightening Cleanser.
However, my diet could play a part in these results. When I used the Even Tone Cleanser I was consuming more fruits, vegetables, and whole foods in general on a more consistent basis.
As for my complexion, it does seem more even, refreshed, or renewed immediately after washing my face, which is similar to my results from using the Even Tone Brightening Cleanser.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN THE ANTI-WRINKLE CLEANSER?
Below are all the ingredients in the cleanser:
- Purified Water
- Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (Coconut Derived)
- Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine (Coconut Derived)
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Derived)
- Glyceryl Laurate (Vegetable Derived)
- Glycolic Acid
- Bakuchiol
- Retinol
- Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract
- Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Extract
- Macrocystis Pyrifera (Sea Kelp) Extract
- Potassium Sorbate
- Phenoxyethanol
- Ethylhexyglcerin
- Natural Fragrance Oils
RETINOL! BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT THIS INGREDIENT!
Retinol is vitamin A in a synthetic form. Products with retinol that are meant to be left on the skin are discouraged from use based on studies from the FDA.
When this chemical is left on the skin in direct sunlight it can lead to skin tumors and lesions.
This facial wash is obviously meant to be washed off the skin so I don’t think the hazards apply in this case.
However, in my opinion, it’s best to use a good SPF cream that does NOT include retinol or any synthetic form of vitamin A after using the Anti Wrinkle Cleanser. And apply the sunscreen to every part of your skin you apply the facial wash (face and neck).
Similarly, Derma E includes retinyl palmitate in its Even Tone Brightening Cleanser. Retinyl palmitate is another form of vitamin A. In my review on the Even Tone Brightening Cleanser, I mentioned following up with a good sunscreen WITHOUT synthetic vitamin A.
Derma E has a Vitamin Statement regarding the use of vitamin A in their products. You can read about it in my Even Tone Brightening Cleanser Review.
ARE THE NATURAL FRAGRANCE OILS TOXIC?
I emailed Derma E to see if they could tell me a little more about the last ingredient “Natural Fragrance Oils.”
Someone did get back to me and let me know that the natural fragrance oils in the Anti Wrinkle Cleanser are essential oils. Although they didn’t say what kind, they did say Derma E uses a variety of different oils, but mostly Lavendar and Citrus essential oils.
ETHICAL ADVANTAGES OF THE DERMA E ANTI-WRINKLE CLEANSER
The cleanser is GMO, cruelty, gluten and soy free. It’s also a 100% vegan product and recyclable.
PROS AND CONS
Pros
- may help with the appearance of wrinkles over a longer period of time
- helps to fight against acne
- renews my complexion
- has eco-ethical value
Cons
- hasn’t removed the appearance of my fine lines
- includes retinol — a chemical unsafe when left on sun-exposed skin
- is not a completely natural product
Although the cleanser helps to work against acne, I’d prefer a completely natural product. Therefore, I’ll continue using it while I continue to search for an all-natural facial wash that gives my skin great results.
